Rashid Khan's father passes away; Mohammad Nabi sends his condolences

Rashid Khan has been ruling the world cricket for the last few years with his mystery leg-spin bowling. He is currently playing in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) for the Adelaide Strikers and has started the tournament on a high picking five wickets in three outings. However, the cricketer has received a huge blow as his father has passed away back home.

His Afghanistan teammate Mohammad Nabi made the news public on his official Twitter handle while sending his deepest condolences to Rashid and his family in this tough situation.

“With deep sorrow I have been informed that Afghanistan National Cricket team player and my dear friend, Rashid khan’s father passed away. I would like to express my deep condolences to Rashid khan and his family. May Allah award his father the Jannah.@rashidkhan_19.

In the meantime, many of Rashid’s close friends and Shafiq Stanikzai, the former President of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), have also expressed their condolences towards the cricketer and his family. “Sadden to hear the demise of our champs @rashidkhan_19 father, May his soul rest in Janat Ul Ferdaws.

Will Rashid play BBL?

This news comes as a huge blow to the struggling Adelaide Strikers as well. Rashid Khan may have left for home soon after getting the sad news. While there is still no official confirmation about his availability from the Strikers for their next game against the Sydney Thunder which is set to be played on Monday, it also remains to be seen when he returns to the tournament.

He has been an absolute star playing in the T20 leagues across the world and has stamped his authority in almost every league he has played. 2018 is ending on a sorrow note for the champion cricketer and Rashid Khan will be looking forward to coming back stronger in the next year.
