Team India won the six-match ODI series against South Africa in their own den by 5-1 and became only the second team ever to defeat the hosts in five matches in the format at home. They also reigned supreme in the limited overs format and are now the World Number 1 Test and ODI side. Virat Kohli led from the front for his side and raked in 558 runs in the series which is also a record. However, Rashid Khan was in awe of the Indian captain after he scored yet another ton in the final match and had a wonderful message for him.

Virat Kohli played at a completely different level during the ODI rubber as he notched up centuries for fun toying with the bowlers of South Africa. Even when he didn’t score tons, his scores read 75, 36 and 46* which proves he was never troubled by the opposition. He is already being touted as the greatest cricketer to have played the game given his impeccable consistency.

Rashid’s tweet

The leggie from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan, was literally awestruck after he saw the Indian skipper batting and smashing tons after tons. Soon after the game he took to the microblogging site Twitter and termed Kohli as a machine which has won the hearts of many Indian fans. “Runs machine + Hundreds machine +Chasing Machine = @imVkohli Bhai outclass,” his message read.

Here’s Rashid’s tweet:

There should be no surprise that he is being called as a machine by Rashid as Kohli is churning out 100s like anything recently. Moreover, he also became the fastest player to reach 17000 international runs in his career during his heroic knock at the Supersport Park.

India will now play three-match T20I series against the new-look South African side and hope to continue their dominance over the hosts. The first match will be played on Sunday in Johannesburg.
