Ravi Ashwin comes up with a hilarious meme to laud Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara has been the difference between India and Australia in the ongoing Test series so far. He has amassed a massive 521 runs in seven innings with as many as three centuries to his name and has faced a record 1258 deliveries during his stay at the crease. His extreme resilience and patience have worked wonders for Team India and such kind of an attitude is hard to find in the T20 generation.

Even the Aussie captain Tim Paine was all praise about India’s number three and admitted that Pujara was the reason why the home team’s fast bowlers looked fatigued in the last Test match. He also went on to say that they tried a hell lot of things to dismiss him but couldn’t go through the batsman’s impeccable defence even once.

No wonder his teammates are thrilled with his performances and Ravi Ashwin who has missed the majority of the series due to an injury has come with a hilarious meme to laud Pujara. The off-spinner found a funny picture on social media with Cheteshwar Pujara’s face attached to the Statue of Unity calling him the ‘Statue of Patience’. He updated his story with the same picture which has left many in splits.

Cheteshwar Pujara has come a long way ever since he was criticised by everyone for playing slowly in the Tests without any intent. In the process, he also ran himself out many time especially during the South Africa tour last year in January and to make things worse, India dropped him in the first Test against England to accommodate KL Rahul based on ‘current form’.

Fast forward the seven Test matches, he has turned out to be the most valuable player of one of the most high-profile series in Australia where teams can only dream of winning a Test series. While all the focus was on Virat Kohli, Pujara managed to steal all the limelight with his hard work and deserves every bit of praise coming towards him.
