Ravichandran Ashwin is sharpening his tools as Team India gear up to host New Zealand for the 3-Test series starting next week. He is expected to be the key to the home team’s success. Ashwin has been in supreme form this year in limited-overs cricket and translated that in the recent Test series against West Indies in the Caribbean.

The No. 1 Test all-rounder isn’t just a tough tackle on the cricket field but on Twitter as well. He congratulated India’s Gold medal winner at Rio Paralympics Deepa Malik but a lot of people from across the border weren’t impressed with that, tried to take a dig and Ashwin was quick to put them down so effectively that they could muster no longer courage to turn up for another round.

To congratulate Deepa who won India’s second gold in the Paralympics in the shot put event Ashwin had Tweeted – ‘So these exceptionally talented men and women continue to inspire the nation.Well done #DeepaMalik #legend’

A youngster from the neighboring country quoted his Tweet and wrote – ‘Pak with 20 crore won 1 medal, Ind with 120 crore won 4, Means 30 crore per medal. Technically far behind Pak.’

Ashwin replied saying, ‘@nisar_shani u r perfectly right. If u consider proportional calculations as an event at the olympics, it could have been 2 medals for 20cr.’

Wit for sarcasm and that is how Ashwin closed the chapter down. He didn’t say anything that would offend the boy, but at the same time, made it clear to him that it was no longer in his interest to go on with the Twitter battle.

The boy replied accepting that he was just trying to be a little sarcastic. ‘@ashwinravi99 Being cricket fan I respect every player either Indian or any one. I was just trying to be sarcastic … little bit…’
