Ravichandran Ashwin back to his Twitter banter antics

Why does Ravichandran Ashwin take the pain to reply to all those Tweets he features in? Even someone half as popular as him takes a second or perhaps even lesser to ignore a comment. Well, the significance of such an exercise can be answered by Ravichandran Ashwin and Ashwin alone.

While we, as fans make a genuine attempt to decipher why Ashwin of all people takes the time to reply to all those tweets, it is certainly nothing short of entertaining. The fact of the matter is that people are generally not used to famous cricketers leaving messages back. On the evening of 21^st March 2016, Ashwin’s twitter account came to life once more as the hapless Bangladeshi supporters watched their weakened bowling attack trounced by the impressive Usman Khawaja and co.

It is also no secret that the Bangladeshi fans felt hard done by following the bans imposed on young Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny. For some peculiar reason, Bangladeshi fans find the bowling action of one Ravichandran Ashwin illegal. Well, while a case can be made for them, they are in no way affiliated to the ICC, unless of course you take into account the ticket sales from the matches.

A certain fan’s Tweet read,” taskin ahmad had good bowling action and icc banned him and u have worst bowling action ur stil playing Kuch sharam hoti hai (You have no shame)”

To which Ashwin replied – “I can’t help that my action looks worse, legality is the parameter and not how ugly it looks.”

When asked by yet another fan as to why he was taking the time to reply, Ashwin’s canny answer read,” I am just replying, cos I have faith that humanity will be restored one day”
