The year 2019 had started on a controversial note for Team India. Two of their star players – KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya – had landed in trouble for their controversial remarks on chat show Koffee with Karan. The two had decided to appear on the show without taking permission from the BCCI and made things tough themselves with their comments. Pandya had ended up revealing just too much about his private life and was widely criticised.

The BCCI had later taken action against the two too. Both the players were called back from the tour of Australia as they faced suspension. Fortunately for the two, the suspension did not last long and they soon returned to the national team. The dust has settled down on the controversy now. However, it looks like it is still fresh in the minds of India star Ravichandran Ashwin.

In his latest Instagram post, the off-spinner has brutally trolled Rahul and Pandya albeit in a subtle manner. On Sunday, Ashwin posted a picture of himself having coffee with his teammates Kuldeep Yadav and Rohit Sharma. And the caption of the picture was absolutely hilarious as Ashwin took a sly dig at the Pandya and Rahul’s controversy, writing, “A cup of coffee always tells you a story that you have never heard before!! what say @rohitsharma45. @kuldeep_18 @imsohamdesai”

The fans were quick to interpret what Ashwin wanted to say with his caption and judging by their comments, one can say that they enjoyed it.

Ashwin eyes comeback to playing eleven

Ravichandran Ashwin, nonetheless, will be looking to break into the playing eleven once again after a forgettable tour of West Indies. While India did win the series in West Indies, Ashwin had to watch them do that while sitting inside the dressing room. The team preferred Ravindra Jadeja ahead of Ashwin in both the Tests. Ashwin is yet to play an international game this year and will be desperate to win his place back.

He is likely to return to the playing eleven when India take on South Africa in the three-Test series later this month. India are hosting South Africa for three T20Is and three Tests.
