Famous scientific astrologer Greenstone Lobo has predicted Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to become a legend of the game soon. Going by the words of the astrologer, Ashwin has all the chances to surpass Harbhajan Singh’s tally of 417 Test wickets. The off-spinner is currently the number one ranked bowler in Test cricket. He recently raced past 200 Test scalps and became the second fastest to do so.

Lobo mentioned that Ashwin’s strong planets are a clear cut indication that he will easily climb higher in his career. The astrologer went on to predict that he might even cross the 500-Test wicket mark. In addition to that, he remarked that despite quick strides, he might not cross 600 wickets.

“His strong planets indicate that he will continue to do the same en route to his 300, 400 and 500 wickets as well. Chances are high that the 30-year-old will continue to play cricket at the highest level till 2023-24,” quoted Greenstone Lobo in his column for the DNA. He mentioned the planetory motions working in favor of Ravichandran Ashwin.

Greenstone Lobo also pointed out that Ashwin started his international career very late compared to most other legendary off-spinners. Despite that, he has been hugely successful.

“The off-spinner from Tamil Nadu has his Uranus, Planet-X and Planet-Z in exaltation simultaneously, which makes him really special. Despite the disadvantage of starting late in Test cricket – at the age of 25 compared to 18 of Harbhajan Singh and 20 of Anil Kumble and Muttiah Muralitharan – Ashwin has been the fastest to reach 50, 100, 150 and 200 wickets,” quoted the astrologer.

Speaking on how he would end up among his counterparts, Lobo predicts Ashwin to fall short of Anil Kumble’s tally of 619 wickets. “In the final analysis, while he will definitely surpass Harbhajan’s tally of 417 Test wickets, Ashwin may fall short of Kumble’s 619. But his feats will be a notch higher than all other spinners, for he would have taken those wickets in lesser number of Test matches and in fewer playing years,” cites Lobo.

Adding a little more to it, he had news about his success in limited overs also. Ashwin will surely excel at shorter formats as well in addition to scoring a few more centuries. “Ashwin will probably become the best spin all-rounder of all time. Expect him to score a few more Test centuries, as well as top the charts in the shorter formats as well,” he added.

Lastly, Lobo mentioned that Ashwin would do a great job as captain as well. Citing the IPL for example, he believes Ravi Ashwin could soon become the captain of an IPL team and reap good rewards.

“The Chennai lad’s captaincy skill is another area that the world is yet to discover. Expect some smart IPL team to make him their captain and reap rich rewards. Just like Kumble, this engineer may even get a chance to lead India at some point of the team’s transition,” he conceded.
