Ravindra Jadeja and wife escape unhurt in a road mishap

Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja who is enjoying some days of rest before resuming national duty with the Indian team set to play another five Tests in the season across two series’ against Bangladesh and Australia had a lucky escape when he and his wife were travelling by their car in Jamnagar.

The incident happened when the rare end of their car crashed with a moped borne girl who has been recognized by the name Preeti Sharma and is a student at a local college Vidyasagar institute. She reportedly fell off her vehicle and the cricketer took her to the nearby hospital where she was diagnosed but had only minor scratches and injuries.

Jaddu is at his home for another few days before he will join the Indian camp for the one-off Test against Bangladesh. He was earlier also named in the squad for the 3-match T20I series against England that kicked off in Kanpur but was later replaced by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal along with his bowling partner Ravichandran Ashwin, Jammu and Kashmir off-spinner was added as his replacement since the team management wants them to focus on the longer format and stay in the right mindset with a tough four-match series against the touring Australian team just around the corner.

Over the last couple of years especially in Indian conditions the left-arm spinner Jaddu has been a vital cog for the Indian team bowling tight lines in all the formats he has emerged as the best partner for Ashwin with the ball and the duo has absolutely ruled the field while playing at home in tandem. He has also pulled up his batting game and Virat Kohli looks up to him as an asset with the bat as well.

As an outcome of the accident Jadeja’s Audi A4 has a substantial dent on the rare right door but the allrounder would be glad it was a minor mishap and didn’t cause a major injury to the girl or him.
