Ravindra Jadeja is currently in England, gearing up for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand to start on June 18 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Amidst his cricketing assignments, he also celebrated his daughter Nidhyana’s fourth birthday.

To make the occasion memorable, he, along with his wife Rivaba, lent his helping hand for the needy. The couple helped five families from the economically weaker sections, opening their bank accounts. Rivaba, who stays in Jamnagar, opened the accounts for the underprivileged families.

Both of them also deposited INR 10,000 each in the savings accounts. From England itself, Rivaba joined the passbook-handling event through a video-conference, Republic World reported. If reports are to be believed, the duo has also pledged to support 10,000 daughters of economically weaker sections.

Kaneria praises Ravindra Jadeja

As far as Jadeja’s cricketing assignment is concerned, he’s a part of India’s 20-member squad for the England tour. Earlier, Danish Kaneria, the former Pakistan cricketer, said that Jadeja could be India’s trump card in the WTC final because of his ability to bat, bowl and field with equal efficiency.

“Because I think that bowlers play a very important role, irrespective of what format you’re playing. If they’re taking wickets, they’ll win the match. If we talk about Ravindra Jadeja, he is a triple-dimensional player. He is such a player that you just can’t keep him out, he simply has to play,” Kaneria was quoted as saying.

“He will give you key wickets in key intervals. He will give your runs lower down the order, stitch partnerships, and will even affect a couple of brilliant run-outs while fielding. So, he is going to be the most valuable player in the final for India,” Kaneria added.

Jadeja wasn’t a part of the four-match Test series against England at home as he was recovering from an injury. He last played a Test match on the tour of Australia earlier this year. In the WTC, Jadeja has scored 469 runs in 10 matches with a top score of 91.

With the ball in hand, he has picked up 28 wickets to show for his efforts. On English soil, Jadeja has notched 276 runs and gotten 15 wickets from five Tests.
