After ending the recently concluded Champions Trophy as the runners-up, Team India is now in West Indies for a five-game ODI series and a T20 international. While the first game produced no result due to a washout, India went on to win the second ODI by 105 runs in what was a 43 overs rain curtailed game.

Kuldeep Yadav who wasn’t a feature in the Champions Trophy put up a splendid bowling performance in the second ODI. He accounted for three West Indian wickets. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant still awaits his chance to don the blue jersey with 3 ODIs to follow.

Among others, Ajinkya Rahane stepped up in the absence of Rohit Sharma as he has a century and a fifty in 2 games. Virat and Shikhar Dhawan have also looked well versed against a rather tame bowling attack. The only concern for the Indian batting lineup is Yuvraj Singh who failed to get going in both the games as he was dismissed cheaply.

As of the West Indies, they haven’t posed any kind of challenge for the Indian team so far. In their previous outing, they hardly managed to level the series 1-1 against the Afghanistan side. Their prospects seem really dull and if this continues, we might well witness West Indies playing the qualifiers for the World Cup 2019.

The move of playing Kuldeep over Ravindra Jadeja has worked wonders for the Kohli led Men in Blue. Jadeja didn’t have a great run in the Champions Trophy. Indeed he faced severe criticism for running out Hardik Pandya who was in sublime form in the finals. He hasn’t been in action yet at the Caribbean Islands so far. However, he has been busy indulging in different activities off the field.

The BCCI posted a tweet about Ravindra Jadeja having a round of cycling early morning.
