Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra JadejaIndia all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is having a ball in the Test arena. Initially, he was always seen as a utility player ideal to play limited overs cricket but to everyone’s surprise, he has excelled in the Test format the most. During India’s 13-Test long season, Jadeja had soared to become the No. 1 Test bowler.

Jadeja initiates, Pandya and Rohit follow

During the IPL season in April, Jadeja initiated a trend on Twitter which caught wind on social media. He decided to shave his beard off as he wanted to change the look in the change room. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya followed suit and the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Ajinkya Rahane weren’t the ones to be left behind.

Seeing the cricketers doing the ‘Break the Beard’ challenge, professional Kabaddi player Anup Kumar too got into the act. Anup is currently busy playing in the ongoing season of Pro Kabaddi League but had enough time to take a ‘panga’ with the cricketers. The 33-year old accepted the challenge of Jadeja and Co by posting a video of his new look on Twitter. He got rid of his untreated beard to don a new look.

Jadeja, who is busy playing in the Test series in Sri Lanka, sent a retort to Anup. It is all friendly rivalry but enjoyed thoroughly by all the fans. He presented a new look in which he has done away with the beard altogether. He mentioned that the trend was started by the cricketers but the likes of Anup Kumar and Rakesh Narwal has taken the ‘panga’ to a new level.

Jadeja had a great time with the ball in the Galle Test as he returned with match figures of 6/138. India took the lead in the first Test of the series by registering a 304-run win against the Islanders.
