Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was in the news more for controversies than in cricket in the last few months. Now it is his sister, Naina Jadeja who made it to the news as she filed a complaint of cheating against Ahmedabad-based event management company.

The company Absolute Events which was initially roped into make arrangements for the wedding, but was later fired over “bad service”. Naina Jadeja said that the Ahmedabad-based event management company is yet to return the advance payment of Rs 6 lakh. The Rajkot Taluka police have lodged the complaint and initiated the case.

“As per the complainant, Absolute Events was hired for Rs 11 lakh to plan Jadeja’s wedding at Jaddu’s Food Field in Rajkot where all the functions were organised. The company was reportedly paid Rs 6 lakh as an advance amount. However, during the pre-wedding ceremonies, the family felt the event management company was not delivering as per their requirements and relieved them of the job,” a source said.

Naina said that she contacted the company after the marriage for the refund, but the owner, Kaival Patel, and his associates Shyam Trivedi and Urvi Babaria threatened Naina as they refused to refund. “We had to switch to the services of a local event management company at the last minute. After the wedding, I contacted Absolute Events to discuss the return of the advance payment of Rs 6 lakh but they threatened me. In fact, Kaival Patel switched off his mobile phone,” Naina said.
