Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) today launched their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 9. In an event at their home Bangalore, RCB launched its new kit for the upcoming season. It is the only team that has two different jersey’s one for home games and the other for away matches, continuing the tradition they will once again sport different looks.

The original red domination with gold and blue on the shoulders has been done away with and for the home games they now have red in the center with black on the shoulders and arms with strips of gold and grey. The away jersey has inverted colors from the one the players will sport for matches at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.

The entire squad was present at the launch and was led by skipper Virat Kohli who was wearing the home jersey, he had Shane Watson, Sarfaraz Khan, Mandeep Singh, KL Rahul and others with him while Chris Gayle, Yuzuvendra Chahal, Iqbal Abdullah and others walked on the stage wearing the away jersey. At the event, they also launched the new RCB team anthem for the season.

The Challengers have always been a top contender to lift the trophy but have never managed to get their hands to the silverware, the closest they ever got was in the 2009 and 2011 seasons but finished as runners-up. The team has the most explosive set of batsmen in Kohli, Gayle and de Villiers, they also have seasoned Australian all-rounder Shane Watson with them, Bangalore who they picked as the most expensive player in the auction held earlier this year.
