The Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians are going to set the action for the 10th match of the Indian Premier League on 28 September. Though RCB won their first match of the season, their huge loss by 97 runs against Kings XI Punjab has again raised questions on their team. In the same context, former Indian opener and cricket analyst Aakash Chopra feels that RCB needs to make a full-fledged change in their playing XI because their bowling is too weak in IPL 2020.
Chopra made the analysis while previewing the match between Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai and Virat Kohli’s men tonight. He shared his opinions on his YouTube channel and also stated that Mumbai looks fine and doesn’t need to make a change in their playing XI. Mumbai’s all batsmen and bowlers have been faring well so far as per the commentator.
“Mumbai Indians had an off-day in their first match. But the way they bashed KKR in their second match with Pat Cummins being smashed, the unbelievable innings Rohit Sharma played. Quinton de Kock had shown form in the first match. All their players, including Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Pollard, and Hardik Pandya, are in form. They don’t need a change in their bowling attack. It is a perfect team.”
Play Isuru Udana and give rest to Dale Steyn: Chopra
Moving to RCB, Chopra stated that they had a good outing against SRH but showed terrible form in the next match. The RCB wasn’t even able to match the individual score of Punjab skipper KL Rahul who smashed an unbeaten knock of 132 runs. Their overall performance was weak, and they need to review it as soon as possible. He also suggested some bowling replacements for the team.
“If we talk about Royal Challengers Bangalore, they won a good first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad but lost by 23 runs to KL Rahul itself in the second match. They dropped catches, batting did not come good, and bowling was very ordinary. You play Isuru Udana and give rest to Dale Steyn as well. You leave Umesh out and play Siraj. You need to make changes because your bowling is very ordinary,” concluded Chopra.
