With less than 24 hours to go before the next year starts, everyone is pouring their hearts out, posting New Year wishes on various social media platforms. And, joining the bandwagon was the Indian Team’s head coach, Ravi Shastri. Shastri, along with the New Year wishes also had a challenge for everyone.

During the World Cup, Shastri’s contract that was all set to end after the tournament had been extended by 45 days. Following this, he had been re-appointed as the coach of the senior men’s team, with his tenure going up to the 2021 ICC World T20 that is to be held in India.

Virat Kohli has grown as a captain under Shastri, but the duo has not been able to take India to a victory in an ICC tournament. This remains as the only red in his ledger, apart from which the Indian team has been doing really well under his coaching.

Ravi Shastri and the Indian team will be eyeing the upcoming T20 World Cup

Shastri in his tweet that had compliments for the team for having played well in the year 2019, did not leave any loose end. Before ending his Tweet, he indicated the team to get ready for the new challenges that lie in front of them in the forthcoming year. And, without any doubt, in terms of matches and tournaments, 2020 is going to be a big year.

Starting with a series against Sri Lanka, the team will go to New Zealand, followed by a big tournament. And, that will be the T20 World Cup. With the team doing well in all the formats this, year, but missing out on a golden chance to win the 50 over World Cup, Shastri, along with Kohli will look to push the Men in Blue right to the finals and the eventual pole position.

Even the fans in their comments were expressing their desperation for celebrating an Indian victory in an ICC tournament. The tweet also included four photos of team India’s series wins, providing the fans with a throwback to India’s milestone wins in the year gone by. He also mentioned a vision 2020, which hinted winning the T20 World Cup and bringing back the trophy home from ‘down under’.
