Reports: Roger Binny may quit as National Selector: Roger Binny, former Indian player who was a part of the Indian team which went to win the World Cup and current National selector, might resign from the post of selector after the upcoming Annual General Meeting to be held on 9th November, according to reports.

It is reported that he could resign due to conflict of interests over the selection of his son, Stuart Binny, in the team in all the formats of the game, despite a series of modest performances. Also, Mayanti Langer, Stuart’s wife, works for Star India, the official broadcaster for matches involving India.

Roger Binny still has a year left in his contract as a national selector, and according to sources of national daily DNA, Roger will make his final decision on the matter at the AGM on 9th November. This could result in a fresh hunt for a National selector.

“Roger has been given time to decide about his future post-AGM. All selectors and officials of the BCCI now understand that after the Supreme Court verdict on N Srinivasan’s conflict of interest case, every individual attached with the board will have to decide whether they want a position in any state association or an office of profit”. This was the statement given by the source to the national daily.

And this is not a one-off incident in recent times. Recently, Adwait Manohar, Shashank Manohar’s son, quit his post after Shashank took over the reigns of BCCI President.
