Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi is reportedly likely to get engaged to former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi’s daughter. The rumours regarding the same are doing the rounds in Pakistan for quite some time now. While none of the concerned parties have announced anything yet, several sources have confirmed that Shaheen and Afridi’s eldest daughter Aqsa Afridi are all set to get engaged.
According to reports in Pakistan’s local media, Shaheen’s father Ayaz Khan has confirmed that he had sent the proposal to Afridi’s family for his son and it has been accepted. On the other hand, Afridi’s family has said that since Shaheen is playing cricket and Aqsa is still studying, the engagement has not yet been formally announced. The families have said that the engagement could be formalised shortly before the wedding in two years’ time.

The same was later confirmed by a Pakistani journalist, Ihtisham ul Haq said on Twitter. Stating that he had permission from both the families, Ihtisham clarified the engagement rumours. He confirmed that the proposal has been accepted by Afridi’s family and the next step will be taken only after Aqsa completes her studies.

The proposal has been accepted; it is thought that a formal engagement will be done within 2 yrs, following the completion of her education,” he wrote on Twitter.
“The reason behind this tweet is to clarify the suspicion caused by social media. Respect to both families; please do await their own official announcements as they are currently in talks. I would like to request all individuals to respect their privacy during this auspicious time,” he added.
