Despite that, it was seen that Kohli and Kumble were practising indoors while Australia faced the test of New Zealand which makes the case slightly more confusing.

Tensions began and started around the time that India reached England for the Champions Trophy, with reports suggesting that the current head coach Anil Kumble is unlikely to continue with the Indian squad after having become tired of it. The tiff between the coach and Indian skipper Virat Kohli has become the main reason behind Kumble’s decision.

The tiff between the coach and Indian skipper Virat Kohli has become the main reason behind Kumble’s decision. As per NDTV sources, It now looks like the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is likely to take over the reigns from his former teammate Kumble. The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) will be meeting the current coach in order to convince him to stay in duty post-Champions Trophy.

Earlier, the acting secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Amitabh Choudhary and their General Manager (Cricket), MV Sridhar, had a meeting with the various members of the team.

Involvement of Ganguly

Former Indian skipper and southpaw Sourav Ganguly, who is also a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee, also met the Indian team on Friday to discuss the situation surrounding the team in England. While Choudhary has categorically denied any talk of a ‘rift’ between India captain Virat Kohli and Kumble, BCCI has sent a team of three to England to get a resolution on this issue.

The Bangalore Mirror suggested that there has been an ice-cold relationship between Kumble and Kohli since the warm-up win against Bangladesh and have since not been in good talking terms. When the legendary spinner walked for throw downs, the Indian skipper walked away without uttering any word.

But despite that, it was seen that Kohli and Kumble were practising indoors while Australia faced the test of  New Zealand which makes the case slightly more confusing

The BCCI had earlier issued a press release asking for applications for the post of Head Coach for the team, the deadline for which ended on Wednesday; it looks likely that the Australian Tom Moody will be given the ignore for the head coach.
