Reports: Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge expecting first child together

Former India cricketer Zaheer Khan and his wife Sagarika Ghatge are set to become parents soon. The couple is expecting its first child together. Both of them are currently in the UAE witnessing the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) edition. Zaheer is associated with the Mumbai Indians (MI) as the Director of Cricket Operations.

The franchise has allowed the players and the support staff to bring their family with them and have included them in their bio-secure bubble in Abu Dhabi. The wives of the cricketers were seen watching the action from the stands away from the playing area on Sunday during the match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians.

Coming back to the good news of Zaheer Khan and Sagarika, the news was confirmed to Pune Mirror by the friends close to the couple. They got married in court back in November 2017 and then preferred to throw a grand reception at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower on November 27. Several known names from the cricket and Bollywood industry had attended the reception to wish the couple.

Zaheer Khan celebrated his birthday recently

Zaheer Khan also celebrated his birthday on October 7 with his wife Sagarika and other Mumbai Indians teammates. The franchise also shared the video of the celebration on its official Twitter handle. During the celebration, the cricketers and support staff were asked to describe former Indian cricketer and Rohit Sharma had then showered praises on Zaheer.

“He listens to everyone and then collectively brings the thoughts together. So I think it’s a very important factor to have in yourself,” Rohit had said. Apart from overlooking all the preparations, Zaheer Khan is also actively involved in guiding the youngsters and other seamers in the squad. Recently, he was seen giving tips to pace bowler Digvijay Deshmukh and the two were also seen talking in their mother tongue in Marathi.

Meanwhile, Sagarika Ghatge is a well known name in the Bollywood industry mostly for her role in Chak de India alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Recently, a web series named ‘Boss’ starring Sagarika and Karan Singh Grover was released on OTT platform as well.
