Since his debut in 2015, All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been a terrific performer in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played a key role in the title victories of Mumbai Indians (MI) with contributions in both departments. In the 2022 season, the Surat-born cricketer is leading the Gujarat Titans and has scored 309 runs in nine innings and has four wickets to his name as well.

Former Indian cricketers Lalchand Rajput and Deep Dasgupta have opined on the form of GT captain in this season. Rajput reckoned that Pandya’s confidence and performances have enhanced with the responsibility. He thinks that, as the all-rounder is coming at number four, he can play the role of an anchor and finish the game as well. Rajput further added that Pandya has got the firepower and mindset, and can excel at any batting position.

” He used to bat in the lower batting positions for MI, but now he is coming at number four, so the responsibility is bringing the best out of him. He can change his game to take responsibility and finish as well. From a coaching point of view, it has given him a new life as a top-order batter,” said Rajput on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.

“With Hardik, he has got that mindset of adapting to any position and has got the firepower. If the batter has the firepower, it will never go away,” he added.

Hardik has shown his versatility this season: Deep Dasgupta

Dasgupta felt that Pandya has shown his versatility over the years, to perform well at any batting position, He added that the all-rounder has also started bowling for Titans, and a player like Pandya is certainly a luxury for any team due to his adaptability at any situation.

“He has certainly shown his versatility by batting at different positions and has started to bowl as well. I am sure he is taking a break and will bowl in the playoffs. It is a big luxury for any team when a player can adapt himself, according to the situation,” Dasgupta added.
