Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is not a new name on social media. He is remembered for his on-field attack on the bowlers and is now renowned for his antics on the social media. Truth be told, he is an absolute entertainer – be it on the field or off the field. He is best known for his hilarious digs at his fellow cricketers using the best of puns and sarcasm.

Another interesting feature of his tweets are his witty birthday wishes. Time and again, Virender Sehwag has come up with witty birthday wishes for the cricketers he has played with or played against. Yet again the former Delhi batsman was a work. It was the occasion of Australian legend Ricky Ponting’s birthday. Sehwag took very little time to come up with a cheeky birthday wish for the former Australian.

The two players have played against each other on a number of occasions. Hence, the camaraderie between the two remains unmatched and perhaps that is the reason why Sehwag even called him ‘apna’ Ponting in his tweet. Viru took to social microblogging site Twitter to come up with another funny one liner. He added two pictures of Ricky Ponting pointing his fingers in random directions on the field. He added a caption saying it is these pointing actions that made him feel that it was Ricky ‘Pointing’ and not ‘Ponting’.

He wrote, “Because of these gestures, initially I thought it’s Ricky Pointing. Then realised it’s Ponting.Hpy Bday to one of the best batsmen, apna Ponty.” Punter has not replied to the birthday wish yet. It will be interesting to see if Ricky also fires in a witty reply to the tweet. Meanwhile, the Sehwag fans were treated with another Viru birthday special for sure. Sehwag never ceases to entertain with his tweets.
