After a short break, Team India will resume their preparation for this years T20 World Cup when they lock horns with the visiting Sri Lankans in a three-match T20I series, starting at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, January 05. The three-match Twenty20 International series will give another chance to the team-management to try in a few more combinations as they aim to zero in on a balanced squad.

The Men in Blue have been sweating it out on the field in their practice sessions. And, while some of them were involved in an intense training session, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took some time out to work in the gym alongside Team India’s strength-and-conditioning coach Nic Webb.

Pant posted a two-part video of the same on Twitter where in the first part, the wicketkeeper can be seen trading some serious blows with Nic Webb, while in the second part, Chahal is seeing trading some blows with the strength and conditioning coach before Pant grabs Webb from behind and the duo proceed to hilariously beat Nic Webb.

India vs Sri Lanka series will be crucial for Rishabh Pant and Yuzvendra Chahal

Coming back to the T20I series between Indian and Sri Lanka, it will be another crucial set of three games for both Pant and Chahal. Pant, the underfire wicketkeeper-batsman, redeemed himself a bit when he stroked two good innings in the ODI series against the West Indies.

In the first ODI at the Chepauk, Pant, along with Iyer, played a mature inning, one that only saw him post a half-century but also lead India towards a competitive total. In the following game, the southpaw was at his brutal best in Vizag where he and Iyer shellacked the hell out of the West Indian bowlers.

he southpaw’s penchant for playing reckless strokes was back again in the series decider and he would be hoping to not repeat the same in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. As for Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner played two T20Is against West Indies and missed out on the series decider as well as the entirety of the One-day series with the team-management opting to play Kuldeep in favour of the leggie.
