Ritika Sajdeh in high spirits as hubby Rohit enters the top 5 ODI batters' list

What’s your idea of a perfect anniversary gift? Had anyone asked the incumbent Indian skipper Rohit Sharma this question, he would say – a double ton. But that’s not all. With his marvellous innings of 208 runs in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka, which also marked his third ODI hundred, the man from Bansod, Nagpur has now enlisted his name in the top 5 ODI batters’ list.

Sharma is certainly enjoying a great time in Virat Kohli‘s absence since he has got the opportunity to carry the team sheet to the toss. In his first series as a captain, he has defeated the Sri Lankans by a margin of 2-1, that too, after losing the first game quite shamefully.

However, then came the streak of good news, and it is the time of his wife Ritika Sajdeh to celebrate. She found another reason to celebrate today, when the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to reveal that the owner of 16 ODI tons is now being considered amongst the top 5 ODI batters who are still playing.

Sharma now in the class of elite

Euphoria, ecstasy, glee, jubilation, exultation, elation and all those synonyms of happiness can now be used to state the present condition of the Sharma couple, who tied the knot on the same day when Rohit struck 208 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali, 13th December, a couple of years ago.

ICC shared the news about Rohit’s entry to the class of elite on Twitter, which left a smile on every Indian cricket fan’s face, and perhaps a smile and a half on Ritika’s. She retweeted ICC’s tweet, with a ‘high five’ to denote Rohit’s successful preferment, with a customary sign of love.

That image of Rohit kissing his finger and looking at his wife, that image of Ritika shedding the tears of immense joy, and that image of Rohit crushing his opponents in his first every series as a captain, are here to stay with the adorable couple.
