In just a short career for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Riyan Parag has managed to impress a lot of experts and fans by playing an attacking brand of cricket. Often coming down the order, Parag used to score handy 20s and 30s push Royals to go for a win, be it while batting first, or chasing steep cricket for the team.

The right-hand batter didn’t have a good season in the first half of the 14th edition of IPL, but all is not lost as the youngster can make amends in the second half of the league which is going to be held in the UAE. Apart from being a useful batter for the team, the 19-year-old is also a very popular member on social media. He often keeps his fans entertained by posting pictures, videos, and other stuff on his official social media account.

Parag was recently seen interacting with Royals fans on their Twitter account. A fan had asked a question related to IPL, as to who would win the Purple as well as the Orange cap in the same season. After a little bit of introspection, the 19-year-old answered the question by taking the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) allrounder Ravindra Jadeja’s name.

He used a gif of Jadeja performing his famous sword celebration in the yellow jersey and captioned it: “Jadeja bhau ki jai!!”

Rajasthan Royals had a poor outing in the first half of the IPL

Over the past few years, the Royals have failed to put in a consistent performance and have not been qualifying in the top four. The story didn’t change much this year as they won just three games out the seven. Also, losing players like Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Andrew Tye didn’t help their cause as the team’s other local as well as foreign players failed to step up.

But there were a few bright spots along the way too, as the likes of Chetan Sakariya, Sanju Samson’s impressive debut as captain and Chris Morris finding some form in the past few games. The second half of the IPL is set to begin on September 19 to October 15.
