Rohit Sharma is generally known for piling on runs, especially in limited overs cricket. He is going through a rich vein of form at the top of the order. He hardly goes for extravagant strokes but churns out runs at a decent strike-rate. When he is in full flow, bowlers find it tumultuous to put a lid on the runs off Rohit’s willow. A calm and composed head on his shoulders adds to his skill set as a batsman. On the field, he makes bowlers pay and isn’t known for his generosity.

However, off the field, he is a generous human being. Recently, the Indian opener and his wife Ritika batted for an animal charity. Both Rohit and Ritika are dog lovers and it showed off at the event. On Wednesday, the Mumbai Indians skipper posted a video on the social media where he announced his tie-up with an online store for merchandise covers of mobile phones and other stuff.

The items would go under his name and his ODI jersey number – 45. In the video, he also spoke about the earnings from the tie-up with the store. “All proceeds from your purchases would go to an animal charity of my choice,” Rohit said. The video post has been well received by HitMan fans on Twitter.

Rohit was selected in the 15-man Indian Test squad that’s currently playing the three-match series against Sri Lanka. However, he has been left out of the playing XI in the ongoing Test at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. He will be hoping to get a game in the Test series and to make a mark and hopefully force himself into the squad for India’s upcoming Test assignments overseas. However, in the ODI and T20I format, he has arguably been one of India’s very best and is currently an indispensable element of the team.
