Rohit Sharma extends birthday wishes to Sachin Tendulkar, also reveals his best two moments with the Master Blaster

Regarded as the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar turned 47 on 24 April and wishes poured in for the Master Blaster from every nook and corner of the world. Having the most number of international centuries under his belt, Tendulkar is perhaps considered as one of the best batsmen to have braced the game and his records speak for his worth.

In an illustrious career spanning over two decades, the right-hander amassed 18426 runs in ODIs and 15921 runs in Tests. Considering his impressive record, it won’t be wrong to say that the Master Blaster owned every batting record and etched his name into the record books on several occasions. He is the most worshipped cricketer, especially in India, and many people from the cricketing fraternity extended birthday wishes to Tendulkar.

Rohit Sharma, who has shared the dressing room with Tendulkar in the national side as well as in the Mumbai Indians squad, extended wishes to the Master Blaster. Moreover, Rohit also mentioned two best moments that he shared along with Tendulkar.

The current Mumbai Indians skipper revealed that — sharing the match-winning partnership at Sydney against Australia in the first final and receiving Test cap at Eden Gardens were his best two moments with Tendulkar.

“Many happy returns of the day to the great man.Hope you have a great day paaji. My two best moments with him were: 1)Sharing the match-winning partnership at Sydney against Australia in the first final. 2)Receiving my test cap at Eden gardens,” tweeted Rohit on the occasion.

Following the legacy of Tendulkar, Rohit has also carved out many records to his name. Tendulkar has been an inspiration for many Indian cricketers including Rohit. After the departure of the Master Blaster from the game, Rohit has duly performed and steered the top-order of the Indian side. Rohit was in scintillating form in 2019 World Cup and he also equalled Tendulkar’s record for the highest number of centuries (six) in the mega-event.

In an impressive ODI career spanning over 224 matches, Rohit has smashed 9115 runs including 29 tons and 43 half-centuries. In fact, Rohit was one of the names which Tendulkar had anticipated to break his impressive record of international centuries.

Rohit has also emerged as the most successful skipper of IPL and has been an indispensable part of the Mumbai Indians franchise. The right-hander has led the franchise to four IPL titles and was set to lead them again in IPL 2020. However, in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, the tournament has been postponed indefinitely and fans will have to wait for a while to see Rohit back on the cricket field.
