The fifth One-Day International between India and South Africa is currently in progress at St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. The visitors are leading the series 3-1 and are looking to win it with one match to go, while the hosts would love to pull off yet another sensational victory and take the series into the decider. Rohit Sharma has struggled on this tour but has looked good in great touch so far. His authoritative shot down the ground off Kagiso Rabada was a treat to watch as it went out of the park.

After opting to field first on a pitch with a little bit of grass, South Africa hoped to pick an early wicket of India. But Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan started off cautiously only to pick up the pace later. It was the left-hander who took the charge upfront even as his partner looked to get his eyes in. Dhawan played some delightful strokes and provided India with a great start.

Sharma in the groove

The incident happened in the sixth over of the innings when Kagiso Rabada bowled a pacy delivery at 143 kph. Rohit who was kept quiet until then shimmied down the track and whacked him over the long-on for a monstrous six. It was a killer blow as the shot brought him back into his groove and started playing his shots. He has got settled now and is looking extremely good for a big score.

India is currently 99/1 after 17 overs and are once again set to post a mammoth total on the board after being invited to bat first. While the hosts included Tabriaz Shamsi at the expense of Chris Morris, the Men in Blue played an unchanged side. They have once again backed their wrist-spinners after enduring an off day a couple of days ago. The duo would love to put on a spirited show this time around and win the game for the team.
