Corey Anderson had made the world watch when he broke the world record of the fastest ODI century. The record is not with Anderson anymore and his international career has fallen quite badly. He hasn’t played for the New Zealand side for the past two years and his current form doesn’t suggest a comeback anytime soon. However, Anderson had the brilliant experience of playing for two great IPL franchises and recently in an interview he talked about playing under Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Corey Anderson played under Rohit Sharma for three IPL seasons between 2014 and 2016. The all-rounder then went on to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 season under the leadership of Virat Kohli. The 29-year-old compared the way, Kohli and Sharma conduct themselves. He said that the Mumbai skipper is a bit laid-back while Kohli shows a lot of emotions.

“Both are very good captains. Sharma is probably a bit laid-back in that role. He is passionate, wants to win, but keeps it under wraps a little bit more. Kohli wears his heart on his sleeve and shows a lot of emotion. But they both take charge of the team. They are natural-born leaders”, Anderson said during an Instagram live session with Sportstar.

Rohit Sharma is one of my favourite players: Corey Anderson

Anderson further said that he enjoys watching Rohit Sharma bat. “They are also the best batters. Sharma is one of my favourite players to watch when he is in full flow. He makes cricket look like the easiest game in the world. The top guys in the world do that” the former Mumbai Indians player said.

Corey Anderson went on to say that both Rohit and Virat know how to win matches which is what makes the Indian team successful. He also noted that the Indian team has various players who have captained IPL teams, which helps them.

“They are good tacticians; they understand the game and know how to win. That’s why India has been so successful. They have numerous players who have captained IPL teams. You know that if someone drops out be it injury or anything they have replacements.” the former IPL star said.
