India’s limited-over vice-captain Rohit Sharma is known for his funny takes on social media at times. The ace opening batsman had an incredible run in the ICC World Cup in England a few months ago with five centuries but could not bring the cup for his side as India lost in the semi-final. He then had a quiet tour of the West Indies with just one international fifty and also scored only 12 runs in the second T20I against South Africa in Mohali.

However, the 32-year-old did not lose his light spirit when he was seen recording something bizarre during the Indian team’s flight to Bengaluru for the third and final T20I on Sunday. With the first match in Dharamsala getting washed out, India’s seven-wicket victory in Mohali means they will not lose the series.

However, Rohit Sharma would like to get some runs in the final match before the Test series kicks off. He was picked in the squad for the two-Test series against the West Indies but did not get a place in the playing XI. He is in the squad for the SA Tests as well but will have to beat some in-form batsmen to get his 28th match in the red-ball format.

Who is Dhawan talking to?

Coming back to Rohit’s bizarre video, he secretly recorded Shikhar Dhawan sitting in the same row with him in the flight and talking with nobody around. It is not understood whether the left-hand opener is talking to himself or over an invisible communication device to somebody remote. Whatever it is, Dhawan’s monologue sitting by the window looked mysterious and he could not see his mischievous opening partner recording him since his eyes were shut.

Rohit then posted the funny video on his Instagram account with the caption: “No no he isn’t talking to me! And he’s too old to have an imaginary friend. Why so loco jattji”. He followed it up with two emojis and also tagged Dhawan who scored 40 in 31 balls in the Mohali game and added 61 runs in less than eight overs with captain Virat Kohli to help India win the game.
