The vice-captain of India’s limited-overs teams, Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying his time off the field as the right-handed batsman had asked for some rest before the gruelling year. Sharma had enjoyed a lot of success last year as he became India’s first choice in all the three formats. He had already cemented his spot in the ODI and T20I sides but, he also sealed his place in the longest format of the game with his heroics for India in the ICC World Test Championship.

Rohit is popularly known as “The Hitman” since he is one of the cleanest hitters of the ball and his big hits have made him a popular name in the world. He has a great fan following on the photo-sharing social media site Instagram where he recently shared a photograph with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh.

Rohit Sharma returns to the cricket field on Tuesday

Rohit Sharma’s mini vacation will end soon as the Mumbai-born batsman will join the Indian team ahead of their ODI series against Australia. The first ODI of the series will take place on Tuesday, 14th January. Co-incidentally, the match will be played at Rohit Sharma’s home ground, Wankhede Stadium. Hence, the Mumbai Indians skipper will hope to perform well in his first match of the new decade.

The 32-year-old had been very successful in 50-overs cricket last year as he was India’s leading run-scorer at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Besides, he had played several match-winning knocks for the team. It will be intriguing to see if he can continue his fine form in the year 2020 as well because Australia have a very lethal fast bowling attack.
