Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are currently in England for the 2019 World Cup. The pair is one of the deadliest in limited-overs cricket and is expected to be a headache for the other opponents. The duo shares a great camaraderie and it shows when they bat together in a high-pressure situation. Their bonding was also seen during a talk-show named Breakfast with Champions.

Dhawan and Rohit featured in the show, hosted by popular presenter Gaurav Kapur, and had a gala time. The openers shared about some light-hearted moments related to the Indian team. The 32-year-old Rohit went down the memory lane and talked about an incident surrounding fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade during a practice match.

“A while ago, we were playing a practice match against Australia and Matthew Wade was batting. Dhawal was the bowler and he was disappointed that a lot of edges from Wade’s bat were flying away for boundaries behind the wicket. So Kulkarni started sledging him but Wade couldn’t understand what he was trying to say.

“When Wade replied by saying: ‘Pardon! What are you saying, mate? Pardon, pardon!’, a frustrated Kulkarni shot back: ‘What pardon, pardon! Go to the garden’, said a laughing Rohit prompting Dhawan and the host to burst in laughter.

Hilarious words about Shikhar and Rahane

Rohit also put forth some hilarious incidents, involving Test regular Ajinkya Rahane. “Once he was being sledged a lot by Australians while batting. when Ajju (Rahane) had enough, he just stuck his tongue out to the bowler leaving the opposition confused as to what he was doing,” Rohit added.

Furthermore, Rohit went on to mention one bad habit of his teammate Dhawan when asked about the same by the show’s host. The Mumbai batsman revealed that the left-handed Shikhar is prone to going to the toilet moments before the beginning of every encounter.

As far as the World Cup is concerned, India is yet to start their campaign and will play their first match against South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Rohit and Shikhar couldn’t quite deliver in the warm-up matches and will look to make amends.
