India might have been humbled in their first warm-up match against New Zealand but the mood is still upbeat. The Men in Blue had a poor batting performance in the match against the Kiwis at the Oval on Saturday as they bowled out for 179 and lost the game by 6 wickets. The team was on their way to Cardiff on Sunday to play the remaining warm-up match against Bangladesh on Tuesday. India will be playing their first game in the ICC World Cup on June 5 when they take on South Africa in Southampton.

That the mood was not dented in the Indian camp was visible when ace batsman Rohit Sharma shared a video of the team’s bus journey from London to Cardiff (around 150 miles) on Instagram. In it, the Indian vice-captain spoke to two of his team-mates Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav besides showing to the fans the beautiful landscape of England on either side of the highway.

Rohit praises Jadeja’s knock against New Zealand

“Hey guys, we are on our way to Cardiff from London and as you can see, beautiful scenes out there. I’m in the company of 2 gentlemen — Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav. Jaddu well played yaar!” the India opener said at the beginning of the video.

The left-arm bowling all-rounder came out to bat with India reeling at 6 for 81 and scored 54 off 50 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Jadeja’s innings helped India go to 170 above even though it was never going to be enough. Jadeja also got rid of Ross Taylor who scored 71 in the Black Caps’ chase. Rohit himself got leg before for two, as did his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan.

Jadeja responded to Rohit saying it always feels good to bat well in the English conditions and he hoped that the team does well in the future. “We will do. This World Cup is too important for us,” Rohit said in his reply.

The focus then shifted to Jadhav. Rohit revealed a secret by asking the batting all-rounder whether he is going to appear in the upcoming film ‘Race 4’ as a special guest. Due to release in 2020, ‘Race 4’ is said to feature Salman Khan.

“Sitting with Jaddu is the new actor of Race 4, Kedar Jadhav. Kedar, we have heard that you’ve got an offer from the movie Race 4 for a special appearance or something…,” Rohit said.

“Nothing is final as of now and we’re still in the process of talking but hopefully after two months we’ll have a surprise for you all,” Jadhav, known to be a Salman fan, said.
