The out of favour and banned Indian cricketer S Sreesanth wants India to win the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand in Kerala. The Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram is all set to make its debut as the international venue to host cricket on Tuesday when the Men in Blue will lock horns with Kiwis in the decider. It is the 50th venue in the country to host international cricket. Though, the pace bowler has made it clear that he would not be allowed to watch the game in the Stadium as he has been banned by BCCI.

Sreesanth has decided to challenge the decision of High Court in Supreme Court and is eager to play cricket again once the ban is lifted. However, he has made some outrageous comments in public in last few days which has left the cricketing fraternity stunned. Recently, he questioned the Indian board of singling him out and saving the other players from Chennai Super Kings in the spot-fixing case. On Sunday, he also slammed MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid for not helping in his tough times despite knowing of him being trouble.

I don’t want to give up on my dreams

S Sreesanth was disappointed with the fact that he will not be able to watch the first international game in Kerala ever from the ground. “I would have loved to watch the match, as it is happening in my constituency. But since I am banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), I am not even allowed to watch the game, which is a little disappointing. But it’s alright, there are other things keeping me busy these days. I don’t even know whether I will be free that day. It also becomes difficult to follow cricket when you aren’t a part of it,” he told Sportstar in an interview.

He also insisted that he doesn’t want to give up on his dreams and is still motivated to play for the country. “I don’t want to give up on my dreams. I want to give my best every single time I take the field. I am fortunate to have a beautiful wife, lovely kids and a good bunch of friends who support me and keep me motivated in every possible way,” the 34-year-old added.

The member of the World Cup winning squad wished the team visiting his state and hoped that they would win the game. “Don’t forget to quote me here. I wish the Indian cricket team the very best for this match. I hope they win the series and may Kerala see the best cricket match ever. Let’s hope the state gets to host more international matches after this one,” he continued.

“I just have to be patient. I am completely fit and I am training hard. All I need is the green signal and a few weeks. I need two or three matches and I will be back in the reckoning. I love every cricketer who has played for the country because it is not easy to make it to the national squad,” Sreesanth concluded with a hope of a comeback.
