Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest cricketers to have graced the game, without a doubt. However, apart from his prowess on the field, the veteran is pretty much fond of tennis as well. He shares a healthy camaraderie with Switzerland legend Roger Federer. The duo has met each other and Sachin has often been seen watching the Wimbledon at the Centre Court.
Before Sachin retired from international cricket at the end of 2013, Federer heaped praises on him. On their meeting, Fed-Ex said that they had tea at the terrace during Wimbledon. The 38-year-old tennis legend also expressed his desire to pick Sachin’s brains. Sachin and Federer also have had some hilarious conversations on their Twitter handles.
In the meantime, Sachin uploaded a video where he can be seen playing tennis with full intensity. Later, he also asked Federer for some tips on his forehand strokes. He captioned the video and wrote, “Hey @rogerfederer! Any tips for my forehand?” Federer isn’t someone, who uses brute force. Rather, he prefers to use his technique in order to outclass the best in the business going around.
Here is Sachin Tendulkar’s post
In August, Federer will be turning 39 years old, but his enthusiasm to play the sport hasn’t died down by any stretch of the imagination. He was set to play in the 2020 Wimbledon, which had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Federer has won as many 20 Grand Slam titles, including five consecutive victories at Wimbledon from 2003 to 2007.
In the last few years, only Spain’s Rafael Nadal has been able to give him a run for his money. However, 2020 hasn’t been kind to him by any means. Back in June, it was learned that Federer has been ruled out until 2021. Federer himself confirmed that he will be missing the remainder of the 2020 season after undergoing surgery on his right knee.
Sachin, on the other hand, remains to be an enigmatic figure despite retiring almost seven years ago. A number of his records still remains intact. He is the only batsman in the planet to score 100 centuries at the international level. Among the current batters, only Virat Kohli is expected to take down few of his records.
