Muttiah Muralitharan is arguably the best spinner to ever play the beautiful game of cricket. In his illustrious career, he has troubled batsmen from all over the world with his magnificent bowling.

Today on the 17th of April the bowler turns 45 and wishes flowed in on twitter for the iconic personality. Among the many who wished him on his birthday, a wish came from the master blaster too. Sachin Tendulkar, who is highly active on twitter has enjoyed many duels with the bowler in their playing days. It was a treat to the eyes of the supporters to witness the two in action against each other.

But amidst the rivalry they shared on the pitch the two players have huge mutual respect for each other which is quite evident. Sachin Tendulkar whose birthday is not far away took it to popular social media website twitter to wish Muralitharan. Sachin hailed the Sri Lankan in his tweet as one of the finest bowlers he has ever faced. He also called the 45-year-old one of the finest human beings he has ever met in his life.

Sachin tweeted “To one of the finest bowlers I’ve faced and one of the finest human beings. #HappyBirthday to my dearest, Murali Sir 🙂 #MuttiahMuralitharan”

Muralitharan has picked up a record 800 Test wickets in his illustrious 133-match career. He has 22 ten-wicket and 67 five-wicket hauls to his name which is quite a thing to be proud of. Of his 800 wickets in Test cricket, Murali has picked up 112 Test wickets against England in 16 matches.

Another Indian player to wish the champion bowler on his birthday was Virender Sehwag who is known for his funny and witty tweets.
