On June 16, India and Pakistan were involved in a rather one-sided encounter of the 2019 World Cup. At the Old Trafford in Manchester, Virat Kohli’s men won comfortably by 89 runs (DLS Method) and continued the unbeaten streak versus their arch-rivals in the mega event. The high-profile match was attended by a number of celebrities, including popular Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.

The actor, who’s also the son of former Indian captain, Late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, graced his presence at the venue in the Indian jersey along with Alaia Furniturewalla. Both of them was in high spirit and rooting for the national team. However, Saif had to face a rather shambolic scene during the contest. A Pakistan fan ridiculed him as well as Alaia, making it an awkward situation for both the actors.

Saif tackled the Pakistan fan

In a video doing the rounds on social media, a fan could be heard calling the 48-year-old Saif as ‘Indian cricket team’s 11th water boy’. Further, the person mocked Saif, mentioning that he is ‘an actor who always kills Pakistanis in his movies’. Targeting Alaia, he made fun of her calling her Saif’s ‘bitiya rani’. The individual didn’t stop and kept insulting them, passing unnecessary comments.

Amidst all the ridiculing, the veteran actor didn’t lose his cool and rather chose to walk away with dignity. He also protected Alaia, who is his daughter with Bollywood actress Pooja Bedi. Saif put up an example of how to keep one’s composure in tough situations and not paying heed to negativities.

Here is the video

Saif and Alaia have started shooting for their upcoming movie Jawaani Jaaneman. Pooja Bedi also tweeted the duo’s photo in Manchester. “My daughter Alaia with Saif Ali Khan at the World Cup match in London. Perfect start to their shoot together for her Debut film #jawaanijaaneman. He plays her dad.. and this was shot on Father’s Day. Best of luck for beautiful new beginnings,” her tweet read.
