Sakshi Dhoni leaves a special message for MS Dhoni

Everything about the Wednesday evening was just as perfect until the news of MS Dhoni stepping down as India’s limited-overs captain came in. The news left everyone shocked but Sakshi Dhoni, MSD’s wife, had a special message for her husband on the day. She posted a very sweet and supported tweet on micro-blogging site Twitter later in the evening.

On January 4, the BCCI officially announced that Indian limited-overs skipper wished to step down from the coveted leadership role. The BCCI official Twitter handle broke the news and it was BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, who confirmed the same in a media release.

Johri in BCCI’s press release stated: “Mahendra Singh Dhoni has informed the BCCI, that he wishes to step down as the captain of the Indian Cricket Team from the One Day Internationals and the T20 Internationals formats of the game. He will be available for the selection for the Paytm One Day Trophy and Paytm T20I Trophy against England and the same has been conveyed to the Senior Selection Committee.”

“On behalf of every Indian cricket fan and the BCCI, I would like to thank M.S. Dhoni for his outstanding contribution as the captain of the Indian team across all formats. Under his leadership, Indian team has touched new heights and his achievements will remain etched forever in the annals of Indian cricket,” the release added.

The announcement came a couple of days before the Indian team is to be picked for the England series. Now, most of his fans are busy wondering why such a decision came in a blink of an eye. It is only worth noting that knowing MS Dhoni, it is obvious that a lot of thought process must have gone into the decision making before arriving at the conclusion.

There is one person who arguably knows MSD the best is Mrs. Sakshi Dhoni. The fans kept waiting for her to come up with a reaction and she did post a message for her husband. She happily wrote that she is proud of MS Dhoni and there is nothing that can stop him from escalating greater heights.
