The bodies of all 22 of them have been recovered and the government confirmed the same on Sunday. This followed condolences for their families from the whole country as all of them shared their grief.
Apart from the 22 who lost their lives, 31 jawans are injured while one soldier is still missing if the reports are to be believed. The likes of Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also saluted the bravery of martyred soldiers and also hoped that the injured jawans recover soon.
On Sunday morning, a tribute was paid at the force’s camp in Jagadalpur to the soldiers who lost their lives in the fierce action.

Even the cricketers condoled the passing away of the Indian soldiers in the Naxal attack. The likes of Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli among many other Indian cricketers took to Twitter to salute the valiant sacrifices of the jawans.
“Distressed to see the killing of at least 22 of our jawans by naxals in Chhattisgarh. Any life lost hurts, but for any nation, the life of its jawan is priceless. They are the real desh-bhakts. Hope the real culprits are brought to justice. Om Shanti Jai Hind,” Raina’s tweet read.
While Virat Kohli termed the incident as absolutely tragic, Irfan Pathan was hurt after knowing about the loss of the lives of Indian soldiers. “Absolutely tragic to hear about the loss of lives of our brave jawans. My condolences to the bereaved families,” the tweet of the Indian captain read.
The former cricketer and now a politician Gautam Gambhir also bowed down to the sacrifices of the soldiers. “Nation bows down to the sacrifice of our bravehearts. Enemy within is as barbaric as enemy outside. Won’t let this sacrifice go in vain #NaxalAttack,” he tweeted.
