Sanath Jayasuriya heaps praise on Indian team and Virat Kohli

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya was all praise for the Indian team in a recent media interaction. Jayasuriya is renowned to be the pioneer of hard hitting in the powerplays. He has always vouched for an attacking gameplay approach. Now, the former opener believes it is the Indian team that is playing the hard way. He heaped praise on the recent performances put on by Team India. He also complimented Virat Kohli for his exceptional form in 2016.
The southpaw quoted Indian team to be doing really well in the recent times. At an event in New Delhi, he acknowledged the same in front of the reporters. He mentioned that the Indian team in doing well in every aspect of the game. Be it the bowling, batting or fielding, the Indian players are at the top of their game.
“At the moment, the Indian Cricket Team is performing well in every department of the game – be it batting, bowling or fielding”, quoted Sanath Jayasuriya.
Speaking on Virat Kohli, he was very happy with the way Virat is shaping up as the captain and also as a batsman. Kohli had been in a scintillating run this year. He averages over 90 this year in the ODIs. In the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand, India whitewashed New Zealand 3-0 under his captaincy.

“Virat Kohli is doing well as a captain and as a batsman. Overall as a player I think he is doing really well”, said the Sri Lankan chief selector. Jayasuriya was in the news a week ago for batting for Indo-Pak cricket ties. He remarked that cricket and politics are two different things.
“As a cricketer, I feel that the cricket must go on. I can’t comment on the issues between the two countries. Cricket is different and politics is different,” Sanath Jayasuriya had quoted back then.
