Films and cricket are the two things that the Indian audience has been most passionate about. Be it a nail-biting cricket encounter between India and England or a good movie, we have the tendency to intensely scrutinise it in order to extract the maximum amount of entertainment from it. Recently, it was the trailer of the upcoming Hindi movie ‘Sanju’ that made Twitter explode, but not in the way you’d think.

While many films have propelled people on the internet to manufacture funny memes and link them to cricket in some way or the other, the latest addition to the list is the trailer of the upcoming movie, “Sanju”. No sooner than it was released, bits and pieces of the trailer were transformed into choicest of hilarious memes with names such as Shahid Afridi and AB de Villiers being the central subject.

On Thursday (May 29), the much-anticipated trailer of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Sanju’ was released. A film directed by acclaimed film director Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Sanju’ will be the biopic of popular Hindi film actor, Sanjay Dutt. Boasting of big names like Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal, the film is expected to be a tell-all version of Dutt’s life.

While everybody was all praises for Ranbir on his uncanny resemblance with Dutt and superb acting as shown in the short trailer, Twitterati, especially cricket fanatics, had a field day as they got the perfect fodder to manufacture hilarious memes. From Afridi’s innumerable dismissals for a duck to disbelief over de Villiers’ retirement, it all found a place in the funny tweets posted by various users.
