The Pakistan cricket team, of late, has enjoyed immense success. After winning the Champions Trophy earlier this year, the Men in Green continued their dominion in the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka. And now the Sarfraz Ahmed led team looks confident of maintaining their winning streak when they travel to New Zealand early next year.

Pakistan is scheduled to play five ODIs and three T20Is against the Kiwis and the skipper looks extremely upbeat for their upcoming endeavour.

Speaking to the local media, Sarfraz revealed that the tour will be a tricky one as it will test the squad strength in foreign conditions. The wicketkeeper-batsman said,”We played well in ODIs and T20Is against Sri Lanka and I am looking forward to continuing the momentum.”

He further added, “We will have a short camp here ahead of the tour and we are planning to reach New Zealand at least 8 to 10 days before the start of series, which will provide us ample time to gel in the conditions.”

Pakistan’s performance hasn’t been up to the mark in the longer format

He discussed a couple of other topics, he also shared his views on Kamran Akmal’s stellar performances in the recent domestic cricket season.

Lauding the efforts of batsman Fawad Alam, Sarfraz claimed that he believes the left-hander will be rewarded for his performance in first-class cricket in due time.

The 30-year-old skipper also conceded that his side’s performance in the longest format hasn’t been up to the mark as compared to their performance in the shortest format of the game.
