The 2017 edition of the Everest Premier League is all set to get underway. EPL is the homegrown T20 league of Nepal and is quite popular among the masses. This will be the second edition of the T20 league. As many as six teams will be participating in the league. The six participating teams are – Bhairahawa Gladiators, Biratnagar Warriors, Chitwan Tigers, Kathmandu Kings XI, Lalitpur Patriots and Pokhara Rhinos.

The format of the tournament is quite easy to comprehend. It works on the same lines as the popular T20 league, the Indian Premier League, when it comes to the playoffs. Prior to the playoffs, the tournament will be played in round robin fashion with every team facing each other twice in the league stages.

Only the opening match of the Everest Premier League 2017, the Qualifier 2 and the Final will be the days when only one match will be played. On all other days, double headers will be played. T.U International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur has been announced as the venue for all the matches.

The first match will be played between Kathmandu Kings XI and Lalitpur Patriots. The match starts at 11 am (local time). All the first matches of the double headers will commence at 9 am (local time), while the second matches will be played at 12:45 pm (local time). Among the top crops of the Nepal’s cricketing circuit, Sagar Pun, Gyanendra Malla, Paras Khadka, Sandip Lamichhane will participate in the league.
