Pakistan did not allow Scotland to come up with any surprises like they did against the No.1 ranked ODI team England a couple of days ago. The T20I No.1 ranked side were too good for the home side as they posted a huge total of 204/4. Shoaib Malik struck a 23-ball fifty while their skipper Sarfraz Ahmed batted through to score an unbeaten 89. Scotland got off to a flyer as their opening pair added 50 in just 4.3 overs but a collapse that followed saw the hosts finishing with only 156/6.

Stats and numbers that were recorded during Pakistan’s big win over Scotland:

4 – Four out of the six 200+ totals by Pakistan in the T20I format have been recorded in the seven matches they played in 2018. Thus, they became the first team to post 200+ in T20Is on four different occasions in a calendar year. South Africa in 2016 and India in 2017 have three such scores apiece.

5 – Shoaib Malik’s five sixes during his 27-ball 53 are the joint most sixes hit by any player without hitting a four in a T20I. As many as six players before Malik hit five sixes without hitting a four in a T20I inning. Abdul Razzaq in 2010 against England was the first to achieve this feat and only other Pakistan to feature on this list.

13 – Pakistan now won T20Is in 13 different countries which are the most for any team. Sri Lanka and New Zealand won T20Is in 11 and 10 different nations thus far.

23 – Shoaib Malik’s 23-ball fifty is the joint 3rd fastest fifty in the T20I format for Pakistan. Umar Akmal hit Pakistan’s two fastest T20I fifties in 21 and 22 balls respectively Australia (in 2010) and New Zealand (in 2016).

Malik himself scored a 23-ball fifty against Sri Lanka last year while Mohammad Hafeez also has a T20I fifty in 23 balls for Pakistan against India in 2012.

53 – Malik is one of the two players to score a fifty in the T20I format without hitting a four. Netherlands’ Alexei Kervezee scored an unbeaten 58 off 43 balls against Afghanistan in 2012 without a four but hit three sixes.

89*Sarfraz Ahmed’s unbeaten 89-run innings is the highest individual T20I score by a captain for Pakistan. The previous highest by a Pakistan skipper is 86 by Mohammad Hafeez in 2013 against South Africa.

204/4 – Pakistan’s total of 204/4 is their 2nd highest total in the T20I format. Their highest was 205/3 earlier in April this year against the touring Windies.
