Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris feels that the current Kiwi side is the strongest team from the country to tour India. Kane Williamson & Co. will tour India later this year in September for 3 Test matches and 5 ODIs.
“This probably would be the strongest Kiwi team to have toured India in recent times. I don’t think there are too many sides that could compete with India in their own backyard,” Styris said.
Talking about the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, he said that he will go on to become the greatest ever batsman in the history of NZ cricket. “I have played a lot of first-class cricket with Kane and have known him since he was just 14-15. He was always talked about as the next big thing in New Zealand cricket and we have already seen him become a world-class player. He would definitely go on to become the greatest ever batsmen to have emerged out of New Zealand.”
He also said that former captain Brendon McCullum had the knack of getting the best out of his players and that’s why a lot of players did so well under his captaincy. And when asked about the best batsmen in the current generation, he said, “The likes of Virat Kohli, Kane, David Warner and AB de Villiers have been on top of their game for some time now.”

When asked about Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi’s impressive performance in the World T20, he said, “The two gave a good exhibition of the damage they can cause to a high-quality batting side like India in their game in Nagpur. I thought the Kiwi team will take a lot of confidence out of that performance in India during that competition.”
