Pakistan’s newly-appointed captain in all three formats of the game, Babar Azam seems to be in trouble after a lady named Hamiza Mukhatar filed a case against the cricketer for allegedly abusing her physically and mentally. A few days back the lady had hogged all the limelight by making severe accusations on the Pakistan skipper.

In her statement, Hamiza reckoned that she and Babar were classmates and fell in love with each other even before he decided to become a cricketer. She also claimed that the batsman had proposed to her for marriage in 2010 and both had left their homes to live together. However, as per her statement, instead of marrying her, Azam abused her physically and mentally for years.

“The person who’s been doing the wrong with me is none other than Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team. I am related to Babar from the time when he wasn’t a known person in the cricket world,” the lady had told 24NewsHD.

“I and Babar grew up in the same society, we used to stay together and we were school friends. In 2010, he proposed to me at my place and I accepted it. As time went along, my understanding with him deepened and we even had plans of getting married. But our families were against it. So, we decided for court marriage.”

“In 2011, he helped me flee from my place, and promising me of court marriage, he used to keep me in rented places. I requested Babar to get married, but he kept delaying it,” the lady had added.

Sessions Court asks Police for clarification on not registering an FIR against Babar Azam

The young lady had filed her case in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Numan Muhammad Naeem. Additional Sessions Judge Abid Raza heard Mukhatar’s petition and asked the police to give their clarification on the claims made by Hamiza.

In her statement, Hamiza had also revealed that she had tried to register an FIR a few years back at the Naseerabad Police Station however Babar made her withdraw the application on marriage re-assurance. However, the cricketer refused to marry her after getting fame in the cricket fraternity and when she again approached the concerned police station, they refused to register her statement.

As per the news.com.pak, the sessions court also warned Babar Azam and his family against harassing the lady for taking back her complaint.
