Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag came out with a unique tweet, as he always does, to greet Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on his birthday. Shah Rukh’s birthday is on November 2 and he turned 53 this year. Sehwag said in his tweet that he had once scored a king pair in England and he dedicated it to him. The reference was about ‘Zero’, SRK’s upcoming film also starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif which will be released this Christmas.

The actor did not reply to the former cricketer’s tweet, which received over 27,000 likes, soon. On Tuesday night, he came back with his reply and it was equally flattering. In a rhythmic tone, he said it didn’t matter whether Sehwag hit a 300 or a zero but he would always remain his hero. The tweet was liked almost 9,800 times at the time of writing this report.

Here’s the response

It may be mentioned here that Sehwag was the first Indian batsman to score a triple hundred in Tests (against Pakistan in Multan in 2004) and still holds the record of being the only Indian batsman to slam two triple tons in Tests (the other was against South Africa in Chennai in 2008). The dashing former batsman played international cricket for 14 years during which he scored over 17,000 runs with 38 hundreds and also took 136 wickets.

SRK did some publicity for his upcoming film in the tweet

For some, Shah Rukh’s rhyme was meant to be an applause for Sehwag. But for many, the veteran actor made use of the opportunity to do some publicity for his upcoming film in which he plays a dwarf. The much-anticipated trailer of the film was released on the star actor’s birthday and it received a big praise instantly. The movie is directed by Anand L Rai and jointly produced by Gauri Khan, SRK’s wife.
