The Eliminator match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 was held at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday. Kolkata Knight Riders came out victorious in the rain-affected match. But every KKR supporter was praying after the completion of SRH’s innings, so as to keep the intruder away from the game. Shah Rukh Khan-owned team finished the league stages with 16 points and was placed in 4th position in the table. Sunrisers finished with 17 points, and was placed in 3rd position.
According to the rules of the IPL, if a playoff match is washed out, then the team who finished with a better position at the league table will be declared as the winners. In this case, Hyderabad would have declared winner had rain decided not to halt. This angered mega-celebrity owner of KKR, Shah Rukh Khan. He was in the stadium till the completion of the game, hoping to see his boys come out victorious.
‘Baadshah’s tweet
Skipper Gautam Gambhir played a match-winning knock to ensure a smile on the face of the tensed owner. Shah Rukh’s team may have come out as winners, but he is disgusted with the rule. He used the micro-blogging website Twitter to venture his opinion. In the tweet, he wrote- “Glad on the winning side tonite. But play offs need to have an extra day in case of an abandoned match. Ami KKR onwards with Gautam Gambhir.”

The IPL runs on a very tight schedule. Teams often get to play two matches within a span of 3 days. But Shah Rukh’s tweet may bear some fruits, as the BCCI maybe looking into this matter. After SRK’s tweet, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla tweeted that BCCI may consider his opinion for the next season. “Good suggestion we may consider it for next season,” wrote Shukla on Twitter as a reply to Shah Rukh.

KKR camp is for obvious reasons a very joyous one. After the match, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said, “There is no stopping us.”
But their nemesis Mumbai Indians are waiting to increase their domination over KKR in the ratio 16:5. It will be a cracker of a game at M Chinnaswamy on Friday.
