Shah Rukh Khan is one of those team owners in the Indian Premier League (IPL) who is extremely involved with his franchise. He likes to take every opportunity to support his boys at the Kolkata Knight Riders. The team got a new captain this season in Dinesh Karthik and picked some really young players from the U19 circuit.

KKR made a narrow entry into the playoffs and won the Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals but were eventually knocked out by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2. However, they had a lot to take back, their trust in the youth paid off as their U19 recruits evolved through the tournament and were at their best towards the end. With the resources that were at his disposal, Karthik possibly got the best results.

He turned 36 today and Shah Rukh posted a message on social media to wish his skipper. SRK at the same time mentioned that he isn’t posting this message because it is a custom or just out of courtesy. He wrote that Karthik deserves it more than anyone else. King Khan further emphasised that there are only a few good men left like DK and we should celebrate them.

He wrote- “Wishing my Captain @DineshKarthik the happiest of Birthday. Not because it is customary to do so, but because nobody else deserves it more. We have such Few Good Men left…so need to celebrate them. Love u man. Be healthy & happy.”

Here is SRK’s Tweet:

Earlier in the tournament, KKR suffered a huge loss against Mumbai Indians and the margin was over 100 runs, Shah Rukh was extremely disappointed. Kolkata won the next match against Kings XI Punjab, Karthik had made a special promise for SRK and told him that he’ll bring the smile back after the win King Khan was all smiles and thanked his captain.
