Shahid Afridi recently commented about the Indian-occupied area of Kashmir. He said that independence and determination in the city have been suppressed and thereafter blamed the United Nations (UN) and other responsible authorities for not taking appropriate actions to stop the ‘bloodshed’. The public including the former and current Indian cricketers have gone berserk ever since.

Cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammed Kaif, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan have bashed the former Pakistani cricketer for the outrageous comments. Most of them suggested him to get concerned about the abysmal situations in his country before hurling allegations at others. Some even asked the former cricketer to not get involved in matters across the border.

Meanwhile, Kaif iterated that Pakistan players don’t play the Indian Premier League (IPL) owing to frequent terror attacks by their organizations which include the Laskar-e-Taiba. The comments might not have gone down well with Shahid Afridi and he lashed out in the social media. mentioning that he won’t be playing be the IPL even if he is invited to play the league.

The comments came as a surprising one for the reason that he has previously termed the IPL as the best league he has ever played in. The cricketer has played for the Deccan Chargers in 2008 and became a crowd favourite owing to his style of play. However, the Pakistani players were banned from playing in the league following the infamous terror attacks in Mumbai.

Thereafter, India and Pakistan have been loggerheads on several matters, which also includes the occupancy of Kashmir. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BBCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have had several altercations. Meanwhile, the Indian public wasn’t going to spare Afridi for his comments on playing in the IPL.
