Bangladesh’s premier player Shakib Al Hasan has had a tough time after having a brilliant world cup last year. A few months after the world cup, the star all-rounder faced charges for not reporting approaches from the bookies. This led to him been banned from international cricket for one year.

Shakib Al Hasan and his family though have some good news to celebrate. On Friday, Umme Ahmed Shishir, Shakib’s wife gave birth their second child. The couple is currently in the United States of America where Shishir has her home. The couple has a four and a half-year-old daughter named Alaina. Now, the couple has welcomed their second daughter.

According to the report by Dhaka Tribune, both the child and the mother are in good health at this moment. Last month, Shakib had flown from Bangladesh to the USA to spend time with his wife. However, after arriving in the USA, he had to stay in quarantine for two weeks. After staying at a hotel and keeping himself in isolation, Shakib joined his family earlier this month.

The former Bangladesh captain has been also very active in providing donations for his countrymen during the global pandemic. The 33-year-old recently auctioned a bat which he used during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England. The bat was sold for BDT 20 lakhs. The money from this auction will be now used as relief funds for the people suffering due to the coronavirus crisis in Bangladesh.

During the World Cup last year, Shakib scored 606 runs at an average of 86.57. He had seven scores of 50 plus in his eight innings at the tournament. He also scored two centuries during the tournament. The all-rounder had also taken 11 scalps during the world event.

Bangladesh has had a severe rise in a number of COVID-19 patients over the past few days. There have been around 4,600 cases of COVID-19 patients in the country as of now. Like all governments, the Bangladesh government is also trying to keep its citizens safe by taking the necessary steps.

Shakib Al Hasan has been trying to do his bit with his foundation. While auctioning off his bat was one of the steps, the all-rounder has also made a few more donations to help his countrymen.
